Emergency floor path marking system GLS-7 is now available for installation on B737 aircraft with FAA STC approval! Designed and manufactured by Cobalt Aerospace, the original UK CAA approval process for the safety product was also executed using the company’s in-house Design Organisation Approval (DOA) and subsequently approved through a reciprocal agreement with the FAA.

GLS-7 is a high-quality and cost-effective emergency floor path marking system. The system is lightweight and requires absolutely no electrical power. Instead, GLS-7 utilises a photoluminescent polymer which is non-toxic, non-radioactive, and requires very little charging time under normal cabin lighting. Robust and hard-wearing, GLS-7 also benefits from added security against liquid damage thanks to our innovative new construction methods.

GLS-7 is part of a portfolio of products designed to enhance the aircraft interior, which includes Cobalt Spectrum, our award-winning drop-in LED cabin lighting – also available for B737 aircraft.

The Boeing 737 series first took to the skies over fifty years ago, and today remains one of the most popular narrow-body aircraft flying commercially.

Commercial Director Gary Girard comments:

“Following UK CAA certification earlier this year, we are excited to announce that GLS-7 is now available with an FAA STC for Boeing 737 airplanes. We had a huge amount of interest in GLS-7 at Aircraft Interiors Expo this June, with visitors impressed by our high-quality product and then blown away by the price – so we are now looking forward to delivering to B737 operators.”

GLS-7 is currently in the certification process for other aircraft types.
